Alaska Airlines Expands West Coast Connectivity With Seven New Routes
Strategic route additions enhance access between California and the Pacific Northwest
Alaska Airlines is expanding its West Coast network with seven new nonstop routes starting in October 2025, strategically establishing the carrier as a leading player in the aviation landscape. This expansion intends to create more service between California and the Pacific Northwest—two of the most rapidly growing regions for business and leisure travel.
The airline will introduce three new routes from Hollywood Burbank Airport to destinations in Oregon and Washington, in addition to new seasonal and year-round services connecting Southern California cities with inland and mountain destinations, including the popular winter getaway of Sun Valley, Idaho.
“Our growing network reflects Alaska Airlines’ commitment to serve high-demand regional corridors with reliable, high-frequency connections,” said Kirsten Armine, Vice President of Revenue Management and Network Planning. “We’re proud to offer more nonstop options between California, Oregon, and Washington than any other airline, making us a leader in West Coast connectivity.”
Highlights of the New Service Launches:
- Burbank–Eugene: Expanding Eugene’s reach, Burbank becomes the fifth nonstop destination served by Alaska from the Oregon city.
- Burbank–Pasco: Alaska becomes the only airline offering direct service between Pasco (Tri-Cities, WA) and both Burbank and LAX.
- Burbank–Redmond: This addition marks Alaska’s sixth nonstop from Redmond, reinforcing its status as the leading carrier at the Central Oregon airport.
- Boise–Ontario (CA): Enhances Idaho-SoCal connectivity, making Alaska the airline with the most destinations from Boise to the greater Los Angeles area.
- Palm Springs–Santa Rosa: A seasonal intra-California link connecting desert warmth with wine country. This marks Santa Rosa’s eighth Alaska destination.
- San Diego–Sun Valley: Catering to winter sports travelers, this seasonal route adds Sun Valley to Alaska’s ski-destination portfolio from San Diego.
- Spokane–Orange County: This new link addresses Spokane’s largest unserved market in Southern California.
